Wild wild west

I can't remember the last time I went to the West Coast of Tasmania, but apparently I did, when I was little, with both of my parents. This time, I went up with friends who needed some extra time for their learner's log book, and Strahan was about as far as we can go. It was beautiful even though it was rainy and windy. I think the foul weather made it the quintessential west coast experience: it was as I had imagined it, including a hail thunderstorm in the middle of the night. I must go for a few walks there before the end of winter. It's gorgeous.

I love that smells of damp forest so very much and I want to see more of it. Time to get out.

  2. These are gorgeous! I am in love with those top two.

Kindred Magazine (not to be confused with Kinfolk) is accepting photo submissions for their Harvest (fall) issue right now (I think through September 1st?). I would pull those top two off the blog (or any of them really....so beautiful, lush and green) and submit them! they are so so beautiful! Let me know if you need the contact info. You can find them on FB and through the website Anchor&Plume Press (they are a small american publishing co.) xo

    1. Hi Rebecca,

These are, unfortunately winter images! I might try and rustle up some images I took a few months ago and submit them. There's so many magazines out there! Would love to do some magazine work.

  5. The West Coast is beautiful & these are gorgeous photos. We went there over Easter. It rained. Of course. But the drive up is amazing - it changes so much over such as short distance, and once you get out of the national park & see those mountains - they are breathtaking!

    1. Is there ever a time when the West Coast is not raging with storm? The drive was indeed spectacular. So many different pockets of climate and vegetation. I would have loved to stop at the button grass fields and misty mountains. We didn't have enough time on this trip though.
